Civil Air Patrol Members Prepare for 2024 Hurricane Season
Marco Island Fla. Members of the Marco Island Senior Squadron and Naples Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol recently conducted a combined search and rescue training exercise to prepare for the oncoming hurricane season. This important training helps prepare squadron members to respond effectively in emergency situations in the community. The Marco Island Senior Squadron command team conducted the training mission from the squadron hangar at Marco Executive Airport. The scenario involved a simulated report of a downed aircraft near the airport. A ground team from Naples Composite Squadron deployed from the hangar to locate the practice distress beacon. Squadrons often work in unison in real-world missions.
